Avinex
About
Project Avinex is another beginner-friendly project that simulates a business-client workflow. The “client” has come to Avinex, the “business”, with a request to build an octocopter with specific requirements. Avinex will then design, build and showcase its final design at a flight demonstration where the UAV will fly autonomously. New members will be heavily involved in the whole design and manufacturing process, allowing for a more hands-on experience.
Design
Avinex will utilize a medium-sized unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system featuring a dual quick-release, interchangeable mission payload configuration: a two-stage dispenser for payload delivery and an agricultural sprayer. Medusa, a proprietary, autonomous octocopter developed in-house, offers a 10-minute flight duration, a 2 kg payload capacity, and a highly modular design to accommodate future mission package additions and upgrades. Furthermore, its modular motor arms and landing gear facilitate rapid and secure disassembly and reassembly, ensuring optimal portability.
